The CREAMER Fund is a local charity to Finchingfield and surrounding parishes (link) dedicated to enhancing wellbeing and access to medical care through provision of facilities, equipment and support services.

Working in close partnership with Freshwell Health Centre since it was founded over 30 years ago, it uses the funds with maximum benefit of the patients of Freshwell and the local community. A gratifying testament to CREAMER’s positive contribution to the Centre is recognised by Freshwell’s status of 10th best surgery in England for patient experience*. CREAMER is just as proud of its links with the community, notably provision of village defibrillators which has directly saved lives, and contribution towards Finchingfield’s outdoor gym equipment.

The CREAMER Fund continues to rely solely on support from the community through: donations (monthly/one-off), seasonal raffles, and the sale of books / puzzles (the latter two available from Freshwell). CREAMER was founded in 1991? by donations made in the memory of three patients of Finchingfield’s GP surgery: Freshwell Health Centre. The fund has become a vital source of support for the community, most notable through its collaboration with Freshwell. This close relationship enables CREAMER to stay close to the heart of its mission, and enabling essential medical equipment, professional services and resources to be offered in-house at the surgery, which in most cases would not otherwise be available due to reduction or discontinued funds from the NHS and local authorities. Creamer's activities

CREAMER currently provides financial support for the ongoing concern of:

Equipment, maintenance and associated professional medical staff for:
- X-ray and DEXA scans (Freshwell is the only surgery in Essex to offer this service)
- ultrasound services (keeping this service local, avoiding referral to Braintree or Chelmsford hospitals)

- 19 automatic emergency defibrillators have been placed in local villages
- outdoor gym equipment on Finchingfield playing field
- Tai Chi classes (coming soon)
